Team-building may address both the Team Leader’s
needs and the long-term needs of the group. It may
also be focused on working through immediate
situations using live workshops or, tele-conferencing.
Facing up to coherence issues and the mindset of a
group of people – in a Unit, a company or an
Organization can be handled through coaching. The
group members may be in disparate regions of the
country or of the world, but be working for the same
bottom-line. Cross-cultural challenges will increasingly
rear their heads as all industry and practices go global
and have to depend on teams that are only linked
electronically.
Coaching for team-building inevitably draws on
several disciplines, in order to be immediately

management is very important when team-building is
the initiative of a lower-level manager or leader.
